Activities & Arts
Creative endeavors enhance learning as children develop fine and gross motor skills, learn new skills, and mature socially as they participate in activities with like-minded peers.
Band
Students in fourth through sixth grades can participate in the Hawlemont band program. Small group lessons take place once a week for 30 minutes. Our band students perform at several events throughout the year, including Kids in Concert and an end of the school year art and music show.
Students may choose from one of the following instruments: flute, trumpet, French horn, clarinet, trombone, saxophone, tenor saxophone, or percussion.
Hawlemont has many instruments for students to use at a cost of $25 for the year. We will distribute the instruments on a first-come, first-served basis. Students who do not use a school instrument or own one of their own may rent from Gerry's Music.
4-H Club
4-H empowers young people to be true leaders. True leaders are young people who have confidence; know how to work well with others; can endure through challenges; and will stick with a job until it gets done. In 4-H, we believe true leaders aren’t born—they’re grown.
Our after school 4-H Clubs offer children several opportunities to explore their interests and creativity. We currently offer baking, weaving, knitting, sewing, animal science, and outdoor adventure clubs.

Sports
Hawlemont students have the opportunity to play baseball, basketball, and volleyball (soon)! All take place on Hawlemont grounds, and students play games against other local schools.
Art
Creativity is a beautifully constructive form of self-expression. Hawlemont students participate in a variety of activities in the visual arts where they utilize multiple mediums, including paper crafts, paint, and pottery.
